PLANNER vs COORDINATOR

Q: What are the differences between a wedding planner and a wedding coordinator?

This is a question that many brides ask me and an important one of course. At Envision Events our couples have the choice between our Wedding Planning packages or one of Sydney’s hottest wedding trends: On the Day Wedding Coordination.

WEDDING PLANNER

Let me simplify this… I like to think of a Wedding Planner as a ‘Secret Bridesmaid’ who is behind the scenes managing every element of your dream wedding, from start to finish. In other words, these are all the logistical components that are required for a successful wedding day. Having one point of contact from sourcing and overseeing all suppliers to executing seamlessly on the day, our wedding planners take the guesswork out of the process. Talk about a dream come true!

AND YES! This means our brides can save time for other things, like finding the perfect dress and killer heels (dare I mention more time for champagne breakfasts.) At Envision Events, our brides can choose to be involved in as little or as much as they desire throughout the process, whilst remaining informed and in control.

A list of elements an EE Wedding Planner looks after (but definitely not limited to):

  • Venue

  • Photographer & Videographer

  • Budgets

  • Catering

  • Celebrant

  • Accomodation

  • Hair & Make Up

  • Catering

  • Entertainment

  • Audio visual

  • Florists

  • Cake

  • Service Staff

  • Invitations

  • Runsheet creation & distribution

  • Additional suppliers (eg; photo booth, stylists, Musicians)

WEDDING COORDINATOR

You may or may not know this already, you can’t be in two places at once and there are many aspects to consider to ensure your DREAM day runs smoothly. The last thing brides want to be doing on their wedding day is answering calls from suppliers, last minute questions from the venue and dare I mention problem solving.

Our EE coordinators ensure every detail that has been tirelessly organised for months on end are executed flawlessly.

Our wedding coordinator is available to our couples one month out from their wedding date, just in time for all the pampering to start. At Envision Events our brides have the luxury of handing over all the intimate details to an experienced wedding coordinator whilst they enjoy long lunches sipping champagne.

Some services include but again are not limited to:

  • Attending and coordinating your wedding rehearsal to guarantee everything runs to plan.

  • Formulate and distribute the ‘Wedding Day Runsheet’ to all suppliers, bridal party members and other parties where required.

  • Set up & Pack down of ceremony for example; laying out reserved signs & programs, transferring all décor and florals to the reception venue where required and ensuring guests are seated in a timely order.

  • Manage the timings & music of the ceremony procession.

  • Attending to all your needs on the day as well as the Bridal Party & close family where needed.

  • Ensuring the execution of styling, floral set up and décor is everything you envisioned and more.

  • Assist with the creation of the floor plan.We also look after any additional setup that is not overseen by the venue some examples are but not limited to signage, guest book, wedding favours, place cards, gift table & collection.

  • Assisting the DJ or Musicians and MC with the Bridal Party entrance, cutting of the cake, speeches and traditional dances.

  • Oversee service staff in the food and beverage service

QUICK TIP: If you want your day to run smoothly you NEED a wedding coordinator!

Well I hope that answers your question of the differences between both a Wedding Planner and Coordinator.
